Its bee awhile since I blogged about Laos.. And I suddenly got the itchiness to blog about a place where I recently went with my family and it so happens that they were holding a vietnamese fair there... ITECC is what they chose to name it.... Seriously no idea who came up with the weirdo-fying name but its actually and most probably one of the only places Lao ppl(who happen to stay in the capital) go to hang out.. XP
Its actually not bad, with a bowling alley, a go-kart *ahem* deserted, a place to play snooker and the only cinema in Laos(yea, the ONLY cinema in LAOS.. Awwwsome!... Not.. XP).. Put it all together and you have Itecc... If you want to call it itik, then by all means, call it itik.. Some people from the radio station calls it Ee-teck.. I call it i-teck.. The sign outside the shopping mall reads "ITECC".. Errrr..... X-X"...
The funny thing is, this place only opens when theres a fair... It actually looks like one of those Thai fairs in Mid Valley, the one held in the convention hall before.. Yea, exactly like that.. The one part about this place that I don't get is that for every fair there is, theres bound to be some stalls that are always there during whatever fair there is.. =.="... "Modern life fair" you appear, "Vietnamese Fair" and "Furniture Fair" also you appear... What fair will you NOT appear?? XS Especially those stalls selling clothes that came all the way from Thailand.. They must've applied for the platinum-gold membership in that place.. XP Either that or they were influenced by Jo Ng's "Saya (n)anti-rasuah" XD
Fortunately this time there was some difference and it was according to the theme "Vietnamese Fair".. THOUGH those faithful stalls still appear... XP Hey... Who am I to interfere between a merchant and his faithfulness to Itecc? XP
As I was walking and taking some pics here and there(while trying not to look like I'm taking pictures for plans to break in and rob their merchandises) my eyes spotted something...
Is this for real you asked? Lets get a closer look...
Vacuum chinese sausage.. O_O"! This must be a warning to all chinese boys to zip their pants! XP *Gasp* Then what happens to guys who don't have zip in their pants? XoX" *holds on to shorts*
P.S: Beware of any vacuum devices.
Anyway, I noticed Vietname is actually a pretty modern place.. I had no idea Vietnam looked like Penang.. XD
You all must be thinking Laos is not really that bad cuz still got cinema and stuff right... Well I've never been to the cinema la but after hearing the experience my cousin had, I'm not sure I want to.. XP He said about hearing the sound of bowling pins getting smashed and the sound of the movie playing at the other side while he was watching a movie.. Haha! Thats cuz the bowling alley its just next to the theatre while theres only two rooms to watch movies.. XP And it'll be like a month before the movie thats showing in Thailand comes out.. Spiderman 3 for example..
It'll be great to at least have starbucks here in Laos.. XP At least can have a lil taste of being in Malaysia.. lol.. BUT THERES absolutely none! T-T"... Well theres something called Dao Coffee, which I thought would taste like any chocolate shake would taste like, with cream top, but being an optimist that I was turned me down.. XP I present to you, Dao cocoa shake:
You can still see a lil of those small ice chunks.. XP Made it hard for me to drink it.. and the cream wasn't cream at all! =.=".. It tasted like what you get when you blend milk and ice.. XP How sad-tisfying.. XD ok la ok la, shouldn't be that mean.. XP But goodness, they even have a plasma tv in their shop! Make that two plasma tv! =.="..Don't tell me they don't have enough money to buy a proper blender and whip cream maker.. XS I don't have a plasma tv and I still can buy(well not now la, no money yet... lol) what ppl call whip cream in a can.. XP Why don't you give me that plasma tv and I'll sell it to buy a blender for and whip cream for you and the rest of the money goes to my wallet.. You happy, your customers happy, I also veli veli happy.. XP
Merdeka celebration this year for me was one of the most loneliest ever.. XD Heard that Malaysia low on budget till can't display fireworks.. XP Chatted with Vince and Vicky till midnight and was bugging Vince with the Jalur Gemilang song.. XD I was practically singing tanggal 31 to myself, alone in my room.. lol.. What a celebration.. Well at least I bought back a souvenir from KLIA.. "I Love Kuala Lumpur" magnet.. LOL.. Swt-ness of me..
Evan almighty was a fun movie.. I really like the dance.. XP and the way "God" in the movie talked was also life-like.. The surprising yet funny thing was at the end of the movie.. "Thou Shalt Do The Dance" LOL... I remember hearing it from somewhere before.. Forgotten where... Oh well that ends my post for now... Take care guys..
